Setting colour expectations in a design handoff
Screen colour is not a production standard by itself; expectations need context and an agreed proof method.

Name the intended output
State whether the design is for screen, digital print, fabric, signage or another process, with the producer’s requested colour mode and profile where supplied.
Use references carefully
Record spot-colour references or supplied samples when required. Explain that lighting, material, finish and production method can change appearance.
Agree the proof decision
Confirm whether colour is approved from a calibrated proof, physical sample or production test. Record tolerances or known limits supplied by the producer.
